All staff are specialist teachers who teach across the full age and ability range. We are an enthusiastic team with a very good work ethos and all staff are willing to give of their time to deliver extra revision lessons and to share resources

The department is at the leading edge of ICT within mathematics and we are fortunate in having a dedicated ICT suite. A wide range of ICT is included in our teaching, each classroom has a data projector and an interactive white board

The software currently used includes MathsAlive, Easiteach, Geometer’s Sketch Pad, Omnigraph, Successmaker and Bounce Back

In KS3 year 7 are set on entry based on KS2 results. The Cognitive Acceleration in Mathematics Education project is also included in the year 7 and year 8 scheme of work. There are a wide variety of text books available, the most recent addition being the New Maths Frameworking

At KS4 we follow the Edexcel Modular GCSE course which has exams throughout years 10 & 11, all counting towards a final GCSE grade. We also do BTEC Mathematics with those students we feel will benefit from a more task based approach to mathematics
