Individual Literacy Support

Individual literacy support is available to students after an initial assessment, referral from parents or teacher who thinks the student may benefit from an extra literacy programme.

After an initial assessment, if necessary, students are given an Individual Learning Plan. This concentrates on reading, spelling, writing and comprehension targets.

Students then attend either one or two sessions a week and receive multi-sensory lessons.

The students are monitored continually and assessed every 12 months.

Liasing with subject staff is essential to ensure that the student has differentiated work if needed or extra support in class.

Individual Maths Support

This is available for students encountering problems in mathematics. Individual lessons may then be arranged and a structured lesson programme is put in place.
