Welcome to History at HTS
History at Hyde Technology School is taught according to the National Curriculum. We aim to provide a course of study which stimulates an interest and awareness in the past. We provide a course of study which stimulates an interest and awareness in the past. We provide a learning environment in which pupils seek to develop their own historical research and interest. We equip pupils with a wide and meaningful body of knowledge to use in the future. We aim to help young people gain an understanding of why things are the way they are, and that things have not always been so and that they may not necessarily continue to be so. We encourage the students to consider the technological developments throughout history and their impact in the present day.
Over the course of Key Stage 3 students will learn about personalities, events and developments in local, national and world history and aspects of the histories in Great Britain. We also focus on the history of Great Britain in its European and world context.
The History department has two full time specialist teachers and one part time specialist. We have access to a Humanities computer suite, interactive whiteboards and a wide range of teaching resources from text books to DVD's.
