HTS Health Week - May 12th 2008

 

HTS Health Week is now over for another year, but this year's has been hailed as the best yet with students and staff alike having a great time enjoying the events and learning about living a healthy lifestyle.

Hyde Tech would like to thank all those that helped make Health Week such a success, including all the agencies who came into the school.

Below is an itinerary of events that took place during the week and on each day's page you can see photos of what was happening.

Monday 12th May 2008

Staff will also be able to have a free health check.  KS3 lessons will also be looking into how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Students will be able to use the dance mat at lunchtime, organised by the house system.  Today the canteen theme will be “The 50s”.  Welcome to the age of Rock and Roll and Teddy Boys.  Enjoy the 50s music. Click here for photos of the day.

 

Tuesday 13th May 2008

Staff will be able to have free health checks.  Lessons will also be looking into how to lead a healthy life.  The theme in the canteen today will be “The 40s” welcome to the age of rationing. Click here for photos of the day.

 

 

Wednesday 14th May 2008

Market Day Special

The hall will be transformed into a Healthy Living Market Place.  Students will be invited out of a lesson to view the stalls.  They will have the opportunity to taste the food and talk to the ‘experts’ about healthy lifestyles.

KS3 lessons will also be looking into how to lead a healthy lifestyle.  There will be lots happening in the Sports Hall and around school – Climbing Wall, Cycles, the Parachute game and the Bucking Bronco to name just a few of the activities.

The fun will go on all day and throughout lunchtime.  In addition there will be a Football Penalty Shoot-Out organised by the house system.

The theme in the dining room will be ‘The 60s’ “The age of the Hippies and Flower Power”.

Year 6 Flowery Field Primary will attend during the day, and parents and friends have been invited 9.45am – 2.30pm.

Parents have been invited into a healthy food cookery session 1.30 – 3.00pm.  At 2.30pm it’s staffs turn to have some “quality time”.  Instead of departmental meetings – the following activities have been planned.

Badminton   Relaxation                Cycling
Climbing       Football                     Organised Walk
Table Tennis

Thursday 15th May 2008

KS3 lessons will also be looking into how to lead a healthy lifestyle.  Staff will also be able to have a free health check.  Students will be able to take part in a ‘salad making’ competition organised by the house system.  The theme in the canteen will be “The 70s” – welcome to the age of glam. Friday 18th May 2007

KS3 lessons will also be looking into how to lead a healthy lifestyle.  Staff will also be able to have a free health check.  The theme in the canteen will be “Street Parties”, come to the party, dance and enjoy yourself. Click here for photos of the day.
