Welcome to the Health and Social Care pages at Hyde Technology School.

 

Students can opt to take this subject at Key Stage 4. At present we have approximately 90 students studying the subject over the key stage making it a popular choice.

The course followed is OCR GCSE Health and Social Care (Double Award)

 

Who does the course appeal to?
The course attracts students of all abilities. Very often students have a specific career in mind within the health, social care or early years sectors and this course is an ideal starting point for them. Students can further their education or training in this subject post 16 in a variety of ways such as higher level GNVQ, Vocational Certificates of Education, FE or further training for employment.

 

Facilities
The teaching room is equipped with an interactive whiteboard which contributes greatly to effective teaching and learning in the classroom. Resources have also been purchased which aid the teaching and learning of Unit 2. Students can test how fit they really are using peak flow meters and blood pressure monitors for example.
Students also have access to other resources which support independent learning such as text books and a vast number of computers.
