At Hyde Technology School we appreciate the importance of all students having access to support outside the classroom.
The design of the Business Studies course allows all students to be able to achieve and complete the tasks set whatever the ability of the student.
Each task is linked to Band criteria which award marks depending on the level of detail and research a student has demonstrated. This allows all students to complete the same task regardless of ability.
Support Workshops
Every Tuesday after school there is a workshop for students who want to improve their work or simply catch up with work missed.
Staff work with the students in a relaxed environment and provide support and guidance on key areas of the syllabus.
Students taking advantage of this support have shown a significant improvement in their work over recent years
On-line Learning
Students are directed throughout the year to websites which support and reinforce the work completed in the classroom.
The vocational nature of the course means that students have the opportunity to gather information from a variety of on-line sources.
Another valuable support package used is the BBC Bitesize website which has all the resources necessary for completing Applied Business Studies. Students have access to revision support and time management exercises in preparation for the Finance exam.
Finally the department has approachable staff who are always willing to give time to any student who feels they need extra help.
