At KS4 Art and Design is a popular choice for Option study and students work in Yrs10/11 towards the AQA [Unendorsed] GCSE examination. This examination allows students to follow a broad, innovative course of study where Sculpture, Fine Art,3D Design, Textiles, Fashion and Graphics may be studied individually, or combined, in preparation for the 10hr. Controlled Test in the final year. Coursework constitutes 60% of the examination and the Controlled Test makes up 40% of the final grade. Examination results in Art and Design are consistently excellent. Many students choose to further their studies at college in preparation for careers within the art or design spectrum.
